Our Process
The process begins with the selection of appropriate feedstocks. The ideal feedstocks are a mix of green and brown materials, such as vegetable scraps, yard waste, and manure. These materials provide a balance of carbon and nitrogen, which are essential for microbial activity.
Once the feedstocks are gathered, they are piled in a compost bin or windrow. The pile is then turned regularly to aerate the materials and ensure that they are evenly heated. The temperature of the pile will rise to 130–150°F during the active phase of composting, which is when most of the decomposition takes place.
After several weeks, the temperature of the pile will start to decrease, indicating that the active phase of composting is over. The compost is now ready to be cured, which involves allowing it to sit for several more weeks to allow any remaining moisture to evaporate.
Once the compost is cured, it is ready to be used in the garden. Bhumi Agro Farm compost is a rich source of nutrients that will help to improve soil quality and promote plant growth.
